Snap Couture designers are professionals with an extensive background in photography and photo printing. Each designer has a strong passion for quality and stylish photo greetings. We do our best to make sure that the images on your cards appear in the highest quality possible. Read about how you can help by submitting quality images:

General Guidelines
While your photo will receive a color/density adjustment so it looks its best, an image that is sent to us with issues such as low resolution, out of focus, or a drastically too dark or too light image will not print well. When possible try to send us the unaltered original image file.

All color pictures can be converted to black & white or sepia tone for no additional charge.

We cannot design or print cards with images of babies or children that contain nudity where any part of the genital area is showing. We do not make any exceptions to this policy and appreciate your compliance.

Taking the Pictures
When shooting the photo, pay attention to the lighting. For indoor photos natural light is the best (light from windows or doors). When outdoors, be sure to avoid direct sunlight and harsh shadows.

Always check your camera settings before you shoot a photo you intend to print. Always select the highest resolution and largest file your camera will support. This will reduce the number of photos you can store on your camera disk or storage media but increase the clarity of the images you print.

If your camera offers settings for white balance, be sure to select the appropriate conditions - typically there is a setting for indoors/tungsten versus outdoors/sun. The correct setting can affect the color tone and produce an even better reproduction.

Scanned Images
Glossy photos provide the clearest scanned image. We suggest wiping down both your photo and the scanner before scanning. This will prevent dust spots on your images. Original prints scan the best–the quality will degrade each time a print is copied. Your prints should be scanned at a minimum size of a 4x6 at 300 dpi to provide a clear image for printing on your cards (roughly 1200x1800 pixels). Once you have scanned your image, save it as JPEG, at the highest quality possible. Usually your image editing software will allow you to define the amount of compression that you want. The highest quality will have the least amount of compression.

Copyrighted Images
SnapCouture.com will not knowingly reproduce any images taken by a professional photographer without a full copyright release (see below). We encourage you to ask your photographer for a release of your image to avoid any copyright violations. If you do choose to scan your professionally taken images for your Snap Couture cards (which we really wish you wouldn’t), you are assuming the legal risk for violating any copyright.

If your photographer has provided you with a CD of your images for printing, we do not need a copyright release for these images. However, you are still responsible for knowing what intentions the photographer had by providing you with a CD and if you are not violating a copyright by submitting these images to SnapCouture.com for printing.

Copyright Indemnification
Once you submit your images to SnapCouture.com, you agree to hold harmless Snap Couture for all costs, expenses, attorney's fees or judgments resulting from any claims or lawsuit for any grounds claiming that the work produced violates any copyright or proprietary right of any person or entity.
